At the 2007 us open Venus played what a lot considered the match of the year. She made it to an epic semi-final match against Justine Henin who at the time was number one and was playing some of the best tennis of her career. If you look at the match they played it was unbelievable tennis on both sides but maybe a little too unbelievable…that is the question I have for you.
I have watched the match on YouTube so many times and the more I watch the more I become suspicious of Justine Henin. Justine was moving unbelievable, hitting unbelievable winners, and was servings unbelievable against a 6-foot tennis legend. The first set Venus saved 2 set points to even the match to 5-5. From there they continued to play some more spectacular tennis. At the end they went to a first set tiebreak where Justine Henin won. At the end of the first set Justine called for the trainer because she had breathing problems. This is where my suspicion really sparked.
Last month Christophe Rochus says there was a wide spread of doping in tennis. Rouchus of Belgium says that he didn’t understand how players can be playing a long match and then come back the next day and played like rabbits. He goes on to say that he believes that there is a widespread doping in tennis. Rochus also addressed past speculation that some sort of doping suspension was behind Justine Henin’s sudden retirement in May 2008, from which she returned approximately 18 months. A standard doping suspension is two years.
“I heard (the rumors) like you,” he said. All I can say is, I found it surprising, her sudden stop without apparent reason. Usually, champions like this announce several months in advance and do a sort of farewell tour.”
I feel that she left tennis because of her doping suspension and didn’t want to admit it. I believe that she was playing like a “rabbit” against Venus Williams. She was playing some of the most unbelievable tennis I couldn’t believe what I was watching.
She was taking these drugs to play Venus Williams and it was the only way to defeat her. I noticed after the first set Justine called the trainer for a breathing problem. I believe that she couldn’t breath because she had inhaled too many drugs.
